Privacy Policy

PennyTap ("the App") is a simple cash savings tracker. This policy explains what data the App handles — and mostly, what it doesn't.

Data we collect

Basic savings tracking needs no account or email. If a parent chooses PIN protection, we collect the parent recovery email, a random installation ID, a hash of its authentication secret, and temporary verification-code and sending-limit metadata. We use these only to verify the email and recover the parent PIN. We never receive the PIN or savings history.

Where your data lives

Savings amounts, goals and history stay on your device unless you choose to export or share a backup. Parent PIN verification and installation credentials use the device secure store and are excluded from financial backups. Recovery email registration is stored on our hosting server. Codes expire after 10 minutes; expired challenge records are removed by daily maintenance. Sending-limit metadata expires after one hour and is removed during requests or maintenance. Verified email registration remains until you delete it.

Third parties

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Our hosting and email providers process recovery email and technical request data to operate the service. Recovery codes are sent from noreply@northbeam-tech.com. We do not sell your data.

Children's privacy

Parent protection should be configured by a parent using their own email. We do not request a child email, date of birth or identity. Savings entries remain local. Contact us if a child email was submitted so we can help remove the registration.

Deleting your data

Delete parent registration in Parent controls to remove the server email registration and the local PIN; savings history is kept. Pausing protection does not delete the registration. Clearing storage or uninstalling removes local data but does not notify our server; contact tanphuqn@gmail.com for help deleting an orphaned registration. Short-lived anti-abuse counters may remain until their one-hour expiry.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version adds cloud sync — this page will be updated and the date above will change.
