Frequently asked questions
Does PennyTap connect to my bank account?
No. PennyTap never connects to any bank or e-wallet. You still drop real cash into your physical piggy bank — the app only logs the amount you tell it, so it's just a running total, not a payment tool.
What happens to my data if I switch phones?
Export a backup file from More → Back up data, then restore it on your new phone from More → Restore data. Your data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself.
Is PennyTap really free?
Yes, completely — no ads, no in-app purchases, no premium tier. It always will be.
Can I use more than one currency?
Yes — VND, USD, EUR and GBP are supported, each with its own real-world cash denominations. Switching currency starts a fresh history, since denominations don't carry over between currencies.
Does the app collect any personal data?
Savings history stays local. Optional parent controls store a recovery email and installation credentials. No analytics or tracking. See the Privacy Policy.
Does PennyTap work without an internet connection?
Yes. Everything runs and saves locally on your device, so it works exactly the same with or without internet.
I tapped the wrong amount — can I fix it?
Yes, open History and edit or delete that entry. Entries created before the edit feature existed can only have their note edited, not the amount, so old totals never silently change.
Will there be an iOS version?
It's planned, but not available yet — PennyTap currently ships on Android only.
Can I set more than one savings goal at a time?
Right now PennyTap tracks one goal at a time. Setting a new goal replaces the old one — your entry history stays intact either way.
Is there a dark mode?
Not yet — PennyTap currently uses a single light theme.
